I Scream, You Scream

Mason's class had their Spring Celebration today. They had a make-your-own sundae bar, complete with syrups, fresh fruit, M&M's, jelly beans, cherries, nuts and sprinkles. While they ate their sundaes, they played Spring Bingo and then told a few jokes!

mEGGaHUNT

mEGGaHUNT is HUGE Easter egg hunt that MCCS sponsors every year. It's held at the baseball fields and in addition to the egg hunt, they have bounce houses and other fun games for the kids to play. It's kinda a warm-up for next week. A pre-Easter Easter egg hunt you could say! I wasn't able to get any pics of Mason and Reagan actually getting any eggs, because when they said "Go" it was an absolute free-for-all! Between the 4 fields, there were 10,000 eggs, but because there were so many kids there, mine only got around 10 each. Oh well, I'm sure they'll fare better on Easter Sunday!

A Day with my Favorite Boy

While Reagan was away on a field trip today with the Girl Scouts, Mason and I went on a date. We ate lunch at Red Robin, browsed the bookstore and then grabbed a chocolate chip cookie at the mall. We then headed out to the Jacksonville Commons park, which is a GREAT park, but it's all the way on the other side of town, so we don't frequent it very often. It was a beautiful Spring day, perfect for being outside!! Mason is a really awesome-amazing-funny-smart-sweet kid, who's growing up way too fast, and I treasured the time we spent together today!

Meet Max

One of the other moms found this little guy at Mason's baseball practice today and as soon as she put him down, Reagan swooped in like a hawk and snatched him up. It was love at first sight! She has been on the Turtle Team at school for the past 2 years, so turtles have a special place in her heart. While I had NO intentions of bringing him home, the kids were beyond crushed when I said we had to leave him behind. So, now we have a pet turtle. It's just a temporary living arrangement though. I told the kids we would have to find him a new home before we move in May. Maybe Reagan's teacher would like to have him as a classroom pet!

I guess this could have been worse. After all, there was also a HUGE snake at practice too!

My Little Seamstress

Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen? Reagan has been working on this adorable little pillow in Dr. Trafton's Art class for several weeks. Only a select few kids from each class are taught to use the sewing machine, so this was an extra special project!! She picked out her fabric, learned how to operate the machine and thread the needle, stuffed the pillow and then hand stitched it closed. I don't know about you, but I don't remember sewing anything until I was in Home-Ec as a freshman.....certainly not as a 1st grader!!

Basket Bingo

WAY too much fun was had tonight at Basket Bingo!! It started out a bit rocky when our party of 19 was sat at a table for 12. Plus, it was all the way in the back of the room....the nerve!! But we were right beside the cash bar, so who were we to complain? We pulled up another 2 tables and were ready to get our Bingo on! If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all, so needless to say I didn't win a darn thing. One of our girls (Karen) won a round of bingo and a few others won door prizes and silent auction baskets (Karen again--seriously I will never invite her to anything that requires luck ever again!!--Cathy and Jennifer). We were by far the most awesome group of girls in attendance! Pretty rowdy too, which is probably why we got called out over the mic. Something about "Those girls at the Lopez table...." Although Erin swore she heard 'low class table' instead of 'Lopez table' and to that I say AS IF!!!

Father/Daughter Dance

Tonight, the Girl Scouts hosted their annual Father/Daughter Dance at the O-Club on the Air Station. Unfortunately Adrian is in California, so I had to step in and play Daddy for the night. I was really bummed that he wouldn't be here to share in such a special memory with Reagan, but honestly, I was thrilled to escort her! Since Reagan's BFF Alexis was also attending with her dad Jake, we decided to make it a double date and ride together. Reagan looked so beautiful and I was honored to be by her side!!The Dance went WAY above my expectations!! Everything, from the food to the decorations to the DJ, was wonderful! In fact, it was nicer and more organized than most Ball's I have attended! Reagan had SO MUCH FUN dancing the night away!! She only left the dance floor to get a drink!! Hopefully next year she can go with her Daddy!!
